Live Baby Brine Shrimp is the best food you can give growing young fish and fry. Virtually all baby fish thrive on Baby Brine Shrimp.
Eggs are imported and stored frozen to ensure the highest quality and best hatch rates.
We recommend using the Ziss Brine Shrimp Hatchery.
How to hatch:
Add 1 tablespoon (20grams) of salt per litre of water.
When adding the brine shrimp eggs, often people will start with 1 tablespoon of eggs. Depending on the temperature of the water, eggs will start hatching at 18 hours. It is recommended to keep temperatures between 27c and 30c for reliable hatches. We recommend a hatch time of 24 hours.
Harvesting:
Once you have your brine shrimp hatched, remove your air source and let them settle. Baby brine shrimp are attracted to light and will move towards it, we recommend using a light source like a small lamp or a flashlight during collection. A lamp can also be used while they are hatching to provide extra heat. Eggshells will float and brine shrimp will go towards the light.
Storage:
It's best to store eggs where they'll be exposed to the least amount of oxygen, humidity and heat. We recommend keeping a small portion of eggs in the fridge for easy use while storing the excess in a freezer. Eggs left out will still hatch well but not as good as chilled eggs.
We store our eggs Frozen.
